The Texas A&M University-Texarkana Master of Science in Nursing program recently received recognition as one of the “50 Best Graduate Nursing Schools in America”.

The program was recognized by TopMastersinHealthcare.com. A&M-Texarkana’s MSN degree ranked 35th on the website, which serves as a guide for students who are seeking information about master’s degrees in nursing.

Using guides from sources such as the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, Top Masters researched the qualities that make nursing schools both in demand and accessible.

Qualities included flexibility, faculty activity and tuition and fees. Each school earned a score out of a total possible 200 points, and the top 50 performers were included on the list.

“The MSN nursing program at Texas A&M University-Texarkana should appeal to Registered Nurses with a baccalaureate degree in nursing who are seeking a leadership role in nursing administration,” the website noted.

“In as little as seven semesters of three classes or less, this innovative and comprehensive program transforms students from practitioners to executive leaders. Through a robust combination of independent research, clinical proposals for evidence-based projects and theoretical studies in administrative policy, best practices, technology and economics, MSN candidates at A&M-Texarkana develop the core competencies to take their careers to the next level.”

The A&M-Texarkana MSN program recently achieved the maximum 10 years of continuing accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a national accreditation agency, CCNE is an autonomous accrediting agency, contributing to the improvement of the public's health. CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate and residency programs in nursing.

“We are excited to once again receive recognition for the excellent work of our faculty, staff and students,” said Dr. Donald Peterson, dean of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. “Our MSN program is dedicated to providing excellent educational and service opportunities to the healthcare industry throughout Texas, the four-state region and the nation.  Graduates from this high-quality program are able to become influential and practical leaders in nursing administration.”
