Arkansas High Shuts Down Lake Hamilton, Benton up Next

The Arkansas High Razorbacks kept the Lake Hamilton Wolves in check last Friday night winning on the road 14-9.

The win improved the Razorbacks to 3-2 on the season and evened their conference record.

Head Coach Barry Norton says, " It was a great win for the Razorbacks. Lake Hamilton had won the previouos 7 contests and getting a win at their place was big."

Norton was also very pleased with great defensive effort. There was some outstanding individual performances and but the entire unit did their job.

The run game clicked most of the night with Jordan Hall rushing for over 100 yards in the Hog victory. Clock management and controlling the tempo of the game was key in the win.

Irijah Price continues to shine. Norton says, " IP has done a great job of making plays. His job is to create space and get open. He has tremendous ball skills and has a knack on the 50/50 ball."

Next up the Hogs travel to Benton take on a very talented Panther team. Norton describes them as very big and aggressive. They are very multiple on offense with lots of formations and motion to create space for their running game.

On defense Norton says they attacking odd front team, which tries to disrupt the offense with multiple looks and blitzes. He adds they are very well coached.

As for getting out of Central Arkansas with a win the coach says, " We have to continue to play great defense and special teams. Offensively we will need more balance and eliminate the negative plays and penalties. Two solid halves of football and the hogs can win."

As always big crowd support is huge for the team. Norton would like to see a big AHS contingent travel to Benton, "The atmosphere when everyone in red is standing and calling the Hogs is second to none. We need everyone available to be there to help create excitement for the Razorbacks."

Needless to say, a victory over the Panthers would be huge in where the Hogs end up seeding wise as far as the playoffs are concerned and whether they play some of those upcoming playoffs at home.
