‘Wonder’ Trailer: Julia Roberts and Jacob Tremblay Are Going to Make You Cry
After you watch the first trailer for Wonder, two things will happen: First, you’re going to need to grab some tissues because something damp might be happening around your eyeball-area. After you’ve successfully tended to that whole situation, you’ll probably demand — out loud, to no one in particular — the names of the complete monsters who made this movie.
First ‘Jurassic World 2’ Promo Art Has Its Eye on You
With Jurassic World 2 heading into production this summer, we’ve still got a bit of a wait ahead of us before we see so much as an official still or teaser. But the first piece of promotional art for the upcoming sequel has landed online, featuring a deadly dinosaur peering out from the jungle — you know, like dinos tend to do. It doesn’t give us a lot to go on, but it should get you a little more excited for our return to Jurassic World.
Michael Parks, Beloved Character Actor, Star of ‘Kill Bill’ and ‘Twin Peaks,’ Dead at 77
It’s been a rough week (it’s only Wednesday), and things just got a little more upsetting: Michael Parks, the incomparable character actor best known for his roles in Twin Peaks, Kill Bill and From Dusk Till Dawn, has passed away at the age of 77. Kevin Smith broke the news this morning on Instagram, where he shared a tribute to the star of his horror films Tusk and Red State.
Jeff Goldblum Teases Ian Malcolm’s ‘Saucy, Sassy’ Return in ‘Jurassic World 2’
Jeff Goldblum is a National Treasure (like, is Nicolas Cage looking for him, or what?), the latest evidence of which can be found in a charmingly off-kilter new interview, wherein the actor, jazz enthusiast and surprise sausage salesman talks about returning to the Jurassic Park franchise — or, as he likes to call it, “dino-entertainment.” And the series is about to get a whole lot more entertaining now that Dr. Ian Malcolm is back.
James Gunn Confirms Ayesha’s Return in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has only been in theaters for less than a week, which — in the internet’s infinitely fickle estimation — means it’s time to start focusing on the next chapter in Marvel’s intergalactic superhero saga. It’ll probably be another three or four years before we see our favorite bunch of a-holes back on the big screen, but director James Gunn is already fielding questions about his plans for Vol. 3.
‘Dunkirk’ Trailer: Christopher Nolan’s War Epic Looks Suitably Intense
It doesn’t take much to imagine what a Christopher Nolan war film might be like — epic, visually stunning, and supremely intense. Dunkirk seemingly checks off all of those boxes and then some in the first full-length trailer for Nolan’s highly-anticipated new film, a historical period drama that looks surprisingly claustrophobic given the open setting. Featuring an excellent ensemble of stars (including Tom Hardy and Mark Rylance), Dunkirk doesn’t feel like your average summer film, which has us all the more excited to see it in July.
These New ‘Wonder Woman’ Photos Will Hold You Over Until Tonight’s Sneak Peek on ‘Gotham’
Although Warner Bros. released a handful of TV spots late last week, there’s some concern among fans about the lack of promotion for Wonder Woman, which hits theaters in just a few short weeks. In comparison to other big-budget blockbusters (and superhero films in particular), the marketing for Wonder Woman has been relatively low-key — strange, since it’s such a highly-anticipated summer release for several reasons, not the least of which is that it’s the first solo female superhero film in over a decade.
Emma Watson’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Sequel Idea Sounds Quite Pleasant
Although the tale (as old as tiiiime) of Beauty and the Beast is a self-contained one with no existing basis for continuation, that hasn’t stopped Disney from considering the possibilities of a follow-up to their recent live-action reimagining — especially now that it’s earned over $1 billion at the box office, breaking a previous record held by the seemingly untouchable Star Wars. But while Disney has been mulling a potential spinoff or prequel, Emma Watson would rather see a direct sequel, and she’s already come up with a good starting point.
Ewan McGregor to Play Winnie the Pooh’s BFF in ‘Christopher Robin’
Even though Jean Dujardin was the obvious choice, Ewan McGregor delivered a perfectly charming take on Lumiere in Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast. Not only was the film a huge hit at the box-office (breaking a record previously held by Star Wars — STAR WARS), but it seems like McGregor was a hit with Disney, as the studio is eyeing the actor to take the lead in another live-action project based on a beloved classic property.
‘Cars 3’ Trailer: Lightning McQueen Pumps the Brakes on Retirement
As the previous teasers already implied, Cars 3 is going to be a little…darker than previous Cars movies. In Pixar’s third installment of the hit franchise, Owen Wilson’s legendary race car Lightning McQueen is forced into retirement following a traumatic crash, and with all the shiny, young new cars — like Jackson Storm — dominating the track, Lightning has a tough road ahead if he wants to remain relevant. That’s a pretty heavy-sounding plot, but as the full trailer for Cars 3 proves, it’s not all doom and gloom in Cars World.
What’s Expiring From Netflix Instant: May 2017
You know the drill: Every month, Netflix Instant delivers a glorious bounty of new titles for us to stream until we can’t feel our butts anymore. But just as Netflix giveth, so must they taketh away, and with each new month comes a list of movies and TV shows that are set to expire from the streaming service — some temporarily, some perhaps forever. Think of it as your monthly reminder to stop procrastinating with that bloated queue of yours.
New Netflix Instant Releases: May 2017
