Bobby Brown lost his bid to block TV One from airing their Bobbi Kristina movie on Sunday (Oct. 8). The R&B singer filed a complaint seeking an injunction against the network claiming the film depicts him as an abusive dad and husband.

According to the New York Post, Manhattan federal Judge Analisa Torres denied Brown’s request stating that his concerns about the movie defaming him were “speculative” because he hasn’t seen the film or read the script. “Whether Bobby Brown was a bad father is a matter of opinion,” the judge said.

Judge Torres then cited an excerpt from Brown’s 2016 autobiography, Every Little Step: My Story, in which the New Edition singer admitted to physically abusing his ex-wife Whitney Houston.

Despite that setback, Brown's $2 million defamation lawsuit against TV One is still moving forward, with the next hearing scheduled for Nov. 13. Bobbi Kristina's estate is also listed in the lawsuit.

Bobbi Kristina stars actress Joy Rovaris as Bobbi, Demetria McKinney portrays the late pop icon Whitney Houston, Hassam Johnson plays Bobby Brown and Vivica A. Fox plays Whitney's sister Pat Houston.

TV One's Bobbi Kristina will premiere on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET.
