Casino Gambling in Miller County?
Supporters are currently in the process of gathering signatures to place casino proposals on the November ballot in Arkansas.There are a couple of entities trying to get on the ballot, but no matter which one wins out in the end if either is approved it would mean casino gambling for Miller County in Southwest Arkansas.
The people trying to get the proposal on the November ballot need over 78,000 thousand signatures to get the issue before the voters.
Supporters say the state loses out in tax revenue and tourist dollars to neighboring states that do allow casino gambling.
Opponents say that gambling is addictive and hurts the poorest of citizens who will try their luck.
