Phoenix teenager Jacob Staudenmaier's heart was likely broken when Emma Stone had to reject his invitation to prom because of scheduling conflicts, but things eventually came up roses — or, more accurately, lilies.

In April, Stone was sadly forced to say no to Staudenmaier, who'd recreated the entire first scene from La La Land as a grand gesture to ask his celebrity crush to the big dance. And though Stone couldn't be there in person, she at least made sure the teenager and his date arrived in style — according to The Daily MailStone sent him a boutonniere and matching corsage for Caitlin Teefy with a handwritten note.

"Jacob, A little something for you and your lucky date tomorrow. Have a great time! Much love, Emma Stone," the little bit of encouragement read.

Staudenmaier's video became an instant internet-sensation after its release, and on an April 7 episode of Good Morning America, the high school student shared that even Stone, herself, proved to be a huge fan.

“Jacob, thanks for making the greatest proposal I have ever received,” she noted. “I can’t tell you what an honor that was and how much I smiled through that entire beautifully orchestrated video. I’m in London working, but I hope you have the best time at prom, and I’m grateful you thought of me. Thank you. P.S. I do see Gosling around the eyes. Love, Emma.”
