It’s the final day of TCA press tour, and with it, FX updates are fast and furious. Network brass have either grim or wonderful news on future Louie, while Fargo Season 4 might be a few years away, and FX Sons of Anarchy spinoff Mayans MC could have a greenlight in the next few months.

FX boss John Landgraf fielded a great many questions in his TCA executive session, some of which we’d heard before. Comedian Louis C.K. remains busy executive producing Pamela Adlon’s Better Things and other projects, but on the prospect of future Louie, Landgraf admitted either a sixth season might never happen, or multiple new seasons could unfurl over the next few decades. Not exactly helpful, but C.K. himself offered that “Louie” wouldn’t be the same either way (via AV Club)

I don’t think the version of Louie that was on FX, I don’t think I’ll do that exact version again. Because I haven’t been that guy for a while; the same black t-shirt and the two kids. They’re older now, and I’m an older dad. I don’t think about it much.

As for Fargo, Landgraf reiterated that creator Noah Hawley is busy with Legion Season 2, to say nothing of his future film prospects. He hasn’t yet heard a potential Season 4 pitch from Hawley, though that could change sometime in the next few months, leading to another Fargo slice two or three years down the line.

Elsewhere, it seems Sons of Anarchy spinoff Mayans MC is rolling along after FX confirmed that creator Kurt Sutter would scrap most of the existing pilot, and step down as director. In fact, Landgraf seemed optimistic about the possibility for a full pickup in three months or so, once more of the revamped pilot has come together.

We’ll have further updates on FX shows throughout the week, but which dormant property most deserves another go in the near future?
