Winter is finally upon the inhabitants of Westeros in the new trailer for Season 7 of Game of Thrones. "The great war is here," Jon Snow (Kit Harington) ominously murmurs towards the end of the clip, and truly, it is.

As Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) sits on the Iron Throne, she and her brother Jaime, the "last Lannisters—the last ones who count," prepare for impending battle, with enemies closing in from the north, as well as the south, as Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and her dragons have finally found their way back home to Westeros.

"I was born to rule the Seven Kingdoms and I will," the Khaleesi declares.

Meanwhile, up at Winterfell, the King of North preps for conflict as he clashes with Lord Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen), a.k.a. Littlefinger, who has been whispering into the ear of his sister Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner).

Elsewhere in Westeros, unlikely alliances are forming between the Houses Martell/Sand, Greyjoy and Tyrell, indicating a powerful multi-family adversary for the Lannisters.

Vengeance, as Lord Varys (Conleth Hill) promises, will come in the form of "fire and blood."

Watch up top. Game of Thrones Season 7 hits HBO July 16.
