“Since the Kalief doc, they’ve been at my neck/ Y’all can tell ‘em Trayvon is comin’ next,”

Jay-Z  raps on the song, "The Black Effect", referencing his 2017 documentary about 22-year-old Kalief Browder’s suicide on Riker’s Island aaaaand his latest docu-series, “Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story”.

The Trayvon Martin Story, a Paramount documentary produce by Jay-Z and Trayvon's parents, focuses on the tragic loss of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin   in February of 2012  and the effects his untimely death  had on our communities. The docu-series is based on two books centered on Trayvon's passing.  The first is "Rest In Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin," which is written by Trayvan's parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin. The second book is Suspicion Nation," written by Lisa Bloom, which details George Zimmerman's trial and acquittal
