Janet Jackson’s Journey to Motherhood at 50: ‘She’ll Be a Great Mother’ Says Jermaine

As Janet Jackson celebrates her 50th birthday today (May 16), the pop icon is embarking on a new journey to motherhood. While details of the singer’s pregnancy are scarce, everyone seems to be exciting at the fact that Janet is going to be a mom, including her brother, Jermaine Jackson.

E! News recently caught up with Janet’s older brother at an event. The 61-year-old singer wouldn’t divulge any details about her baby sister’s pregnancy, but he did say that the family is ecstatic over the baby news.

"She'll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict," he said about his younger sibling's path to motherhood.

"My sister Janet is my baby. She is fine but she is having a baby,” he added. “A baby having a baby. We look at her like our little baby and now she's grown and having a baby. She is feeling fine.”

At 50 years old, we have watch Janet’s rise from Michael’s little sister to becoming a full-fledged pop icon. Through the years, the Grammy-winning singer has alway remain in control both in her career and private life.

Jermaine, who is a father of nine children, says he's willing to offer any assists once the baby is born.

"I tell her, ‘If you need any parenting skills or baby skills, let me know because I'm the best diaper changer there is on this planet, still to this day," he said.

And when it comes to those famous Jackson genes, Jermaine gushed, "I can't wait to see how this baby is going to look."

If the baby looks anything like Janet, it will be undoubtedly the cutest baby in the world.
