The Royal Society Civil Rights Organization invites you to join the Justice For All Rally  this Saturday, May 12, at 1 p.m.

The rally will take place at the Bi-state Justice Building located at 100 N. Sate Line Ave. The purpose of the rally is to raise awareness of the mistreatment of inmates in the custody of the Bowie County Correctional Facility.

In a recent interview for Majic 93.3's public affairs show, Texarkana Matters, Dr. R.L. Johnson explained that the organizations mission is to bring key parties together to put an end to the inhumane treatment of Bowie County Correctional Facility. Also joining the interview was Jennifer Houser, the mother of  Morgan Angerbauer, a severe diabetic, who was denied insulin while in care of the facility. She later died while in in the facility's custody just eight days before her 21st birthday.

The video below shows despite the severity of Angerbauer's medical state, the ambulance was never called.

Ms. Rosalind Witcher also shared how her son was allegedly ignored and denied medical care for several hours when he complained one side of his body had gone completely numb. At the time of the interview, according to Ms. Witcher, her son had been taken to Wadley hospital where he was placed in ICU.

These cases illuminate an ongoing debate about the quality of privatized healthcare in American jails and prisons, which critics say sacrifice the the well-being of inmates to satisfy bottom lines. Prison and prison health care companies counter that they save governments money and their services meet national standards.

in 2016, the Michael Sabbie story made national news just months after the death of Sandra Bland. Based on video footage, Sabbie told guards he couldn't breathe 19 times in nine minutes. The guards who get paid roughly $10 per hour apparently did not take his cry for help seriously.
