To heal a wound, you have to stop touching it. An exact year today, I had spinal surgery and was discharged two days later with very simple instructions from my surgeon regarding my wound... DON'T TOUCH IT.

When your heart has been broken, it's hard not to revisit that sore place. While I definitely believe in counseling and working passed hurting places, I also believe continuously picking at a wound keeps it from healing and can even cause infection. So, today when that thought and/or conversation of "I remember when...." or "Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda" surfaces, DON'T TOUCH IT.... don't entertain it, especially if it's something you've intentionally worked to move passed.  Allow the healing process to do what it is designed to do... Remove, restore, and regenerate.
