Live United Bowl Receives Funds
The Live United Bowl has received funding that will enable it to promote its event over the next three years.
A $75,000 check was presented to the United Way of Greater Texarkana from Dean and LaCretia Barry for naming rights for the next three years for the Live United Bowl Texarkana. The Barrys have long been a part of Texarkana and want to further the impact of the Live United Bowl Texarkana.
The Live United Bowl committee also presented the United Way of Greater Texarkana a check for $10,000 for the third annual Live United Bowl Texarkana, held December 5, 2015. Many volunteer hours and planning went into this year's bowl to help make it a success.
The bowl's game, played between Oklahoma Central and Southwestern Oklahoma Central University, was the most successful yet bringing in more than 5,500 fans to Arkansas High's Razorback Stadium. The event allowed the bowl to present a check for $10,000 to the United Way.
