Insurance agent Mark Oubre has a thriving business and frequently coaches area ball teams, but there is one thing that keeps him grounded above all else.

It is difficult to pick just one thing to be thankful for, as I am very blessed, but would say that the thing I am most thankful for is my family. I am fortunate that I can spend time with them and it gives me more joy than anything else.

My wife takes care of our household, loves us more than anyone ever could, and keeps us on track. We could not survive without her!!

I have been able to coach my son’s ball teams, spend time hunting with him all over, and watch him grow. Seeing him learn, work hard, achieve goals and be successful makes me very happy and proud of him. The chance to teach him and lead him in the right direction is something I cannot express how thankful I am to have.

I am thankful that all the sacrifices we have made in years past have allowed me to schedule my time to be there for my family when they need me to be. My parents and in-laws both live here in Texarkana as well as my brother and his family. I get to see all of them on a regular basis and spend time together.

As busy as things are for us every day, I always know in my mind that these are the most important things, and the opportunity I have to be there for so much is what I am most thankful for. Nothing beats a chance to give your family a big strong hug, no matter what other storm is going on around you."
