National Pet Adoption Event at Petsmart on Saturday

If you’ve been considering adopting a new four-legged family member, please come to PetSmart this Saturday during the PetSmart Charities National Adoption Event!

This special adoption weekend will be held at more than 1,210 PetSmart stores nationwide. When you adopt during this event you will receive free food for your new pet as well as coupons for savings up to $250!

Several local dog rescues will be joining Texarkana Animal League at this event. Save a pet’s life and enrich your own with the pure joy that only a tail wag can bring. Make it extra-special when you adopt.

Whether you want a cat, dog, puppy or kitten, a purebred or mixed breed, you’re bound to find the perfect match among the pets up for adoption during this event.

Your pet adoption this Saturday will benefit the Texarkana Animal League. TAL will receive $35 in adoption-reward grants from PetSmart Charities for every pet they adopt in stores during this event.

“In the Texarkana area the only way we can help reduce the number of unwanted animals is by helping people to adopt their next pet and showing people how they can get help to have their pets spayed or neutered. It’s up to us as a community to be responsible pet owners and help to educate each other,” said Melissa Cook, President of Texarkana Animal League. “There will be multiple groups at the event Saturday the 15th, with various animals from cats to kittens to large and small dogs. Adoption fees will vary from animal to animal. We encourage people who may be just looking to add an animal to their family to stop by and educate themselves about any breeds they find interesting. This is not simply an adoption event but also a meet and greet where everyone can learn from one another.”
