We’re especially curious to check out Netflix’s upcoming Spielberg-tinged Stranger Things, though the ten-episode series hasn’t clarified very much of an over-arching story. They may have time yet to work that out, however, as series star Matthew Modine says Stranger Things Season 2 is already in the works.

Take this with a grain of salt for the moment, as Netflix representatives say a Season 2 renewal for Stranger Things is “not confirmed” at this time, though a new interview with interview with French magazine Premiere sees Matthew Modine saying in no uncertain terms, “it’s a series … oh, there will be a Season 2, yeah.”

Modine plays the role of Dr. Martin Brenner, an enigmatic scientist who might be connected to a boy’s mysterious disappearance, but couldn’t elaborate much in the video above. Hitting Netflix on July 15, Stranger Things is executive produced by the Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, and Dan Cohen, and stars Winona Ryder, Matthew Modine, David Harbour, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer, and Millie Brown.

Check out the full photos below, in addition to the first synopsis:

Set in Hawkins Indiana in the 1980’s, Stranger Things chronicles the search for a young boy who vanishes into thin air under highly suspicious circumstances. His mother (Winona Ryder) opens an investigation into the boy’s disappearance with local authorities that unravels a series of mysteries involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl. A love letter to the ubiquitous cult classics of the 80’s, Stranger Things is a coming of age story for three boys that draws this quaint community into a world where mysteries lurk beneath the surface.
