Alien: Covenant arrives in just over a month, and today 20th Century Fox debuted a fun, mash-up-style international poster that gives us a new look at everyone’s favorite Xenomorph.

Story-wise, the poster doesn’t show us much that we didn't already know. There are big guns, spaceships, creepy unopened eggs, and a synthetic Michael Fassbender. But then you look below all that and…

…gooey dripping alien slime!

So, what can we glean from this one? Well, for starters, all the imagery takes place inside the Xenomorph’s head. We hope that isn’t some kind of hint that the whole Alien saga was just a dream.

Or would it be a nightmare? What would a Xenomorph’s subconscious think about the events of the five Alien movies (plus a few Aliens vs. Predator entries, but we’ll ignore those for now)? It would probably be pretty psyched about all the face-sucking and chest-bursting, but maybe not so enamored with the whole getting-blown-out-of-the-[gosh-darned]-airlock thing.

Anyway, we’ll stop giving Ridley Scott ideas for a new franchise direction and instead focus on what we actually do know about Covenant. Here’s the official plot description:

The path to paradise begins in hell. Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Alien: Covenant hits theaters May 19.
