An overnight crash involving an 18-wheeler on Jarvis Parkway/Interstate 369 has closed the northbound lanes at Westlawn Drive.

According to Texas side police, the truck flipped and all the cargo in the trailer was dumped on the roadway. Luckily, there were only minor injuries.

Authorities say though that the big rig was hauling some corrosive material. Hazmat is on the scene and working to clean up the mess. Unfortunately it might take 5 to 6 hours before they might actually be able to move the truck itself.

We expect that all northbound traffic there will continue to be diverted off at the Westlawn Drive exit for most of the morning while they work to clean up the mess. If you have another route you can take that avoids that area, you probably want to do that.

Police hope the situation will return to normal by around noon today.

The investigation into what caused the accident in the first place is underway.
