The 9th annual Run the Line Half Marathon is Sunday, February 21,  in Texarkana.

This is an opportunity to run one race in two states. The start time is at 8AM downtown at the intersection of Broad and Main Streets. It will offer several pace groups this year. All pace group leaders are well-experienced, great runners. Look for signs at the start of the race.

There is a 7:30AM early start at the same location for walkers, physically challenged athletes, and slower runners who need more than three hours to complete the race. The course closes at 11AM with limited support for those who finish after 11AM. The race ends downtown at 3rd Street and Wood Street at Hopkins Ice House.

The race is in the Arkansas Grand Prix series for the fifth year. There are only 20 races in the series. This is the fourth year of the annual RRCA Arkansas vs Texas competition. Arkansas won the first two years but Texas won in 2013.

The course is USATF certified (#AR09010DLP) and relatively flat with several long inclines. It goes through both Cities of Texarkana with a portion of the race on the Arkansas/Texas Stateline. The course is a single loop that is primarily asphalt and includes the Nix Creek Trail, the Phillip McDougal Trail in Spring Lake Park, and city streets with coning.

The half-marathon includes 2-person relay teams. Electronic timing chips are provided for runners and walkers. Multiple water stops, restrooms, volunteers, and music are stationed along the course. After the race, all runners are invited to join everyone at the finish line for food, drinks, and awards. The award ceremony will start about 11:15AM..

T-shirts will also be available while they last. All finishers will receive a medal.
