Super Size Me – It’ll Help McDonald’s Employees

I can't help but think of the movie Super Size Me every time I think of McDonald's, but did you know that doubling employees salaries there would only cost you an extra 68¢ on a Big Mac?

This research was recently done by a University of Kansas student in regards to the fact that fast-food employees around the country are demanding a $15 per hour minimum wage.

I've not worked in the fast-food industry, but I have worked in the food industry as a waitress and I can understand wanting a higher minimum wage. No argument there.

I mean, every dollar menu item would only go up 17¢. I don't really see the issue there.

The student discovered in their research that only 17.1 percent of McDonald's annual revenue goes towards benefits and salaries. To put that simply, for every dollar McDonald's earns only 17¢ goes towards the income of more than 500,000 U.S. employees.

That's a lot of employees that wish they were making more money. Just saying.
