Gun control has always been a major issue of debate in America — right up alongside the more recently heated topics of abortion, same-sex marriage and health care — but the tragic shooting of 71 people during a Colorado theater’s showing of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ has given this controversy a brand new spotlight.

James Holmes, the 24-year-old former graduate student suspected of opening fire at a Colorado movie theater’s midnight showing of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ early Friday, is due in court Monday for an initial advisement.

Following the tragic events that occurred in Aurora, Colorado early this morning when a shooter opened fire during a midnight screening of ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ Warner Bros. has decided to pull the ‘Gangster Squad‘ trailer.

Today, the nation is reeling after a gunman went on a shooting rampage during a midnight screening of ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘ in Aurora, Colorado.

We’re now getting our first look at James Holmes, the alleged shooter in that horrific massacre in a Colorado movie theater early Friday.

President Barack Obama was scheduled to speak this morning at a campaign stop in Fort Myers, Florida. Instead of speaking about his upcoming re-election campaign, he instead delivered a speech on the ‘Dark Knight Rises’ shooting in Aurora, Colorado.
