This week my son Tyler reached the pinnacle of Boy Scouting, the rank of Eagle Scout. My wife and I are very proud as you can imagine.

Troop 3 had some hiking to do this past weekend to finish up some merit badges going into their Court of Honor next week. They did great as always.

UPDATE: The Troop 3 summer camp trip to Pioneer is over and first of all we had a blast as a Troop, probably the most fun we've ever had at a summer camp. So who's ready to hear about how the mosquito netting and frame performed? Here we go.

First off let me say this, I love kayaking now. Second, it's a little harder than I thought it was.

I've been going to camp with my Boy Scout son Tyler for three years now and we're coming up on year number four very soon. Every year I have seen these fantastic mosquito net frames some of the boys from other troops had for their beds and I kept thinking "one of these days I'm going to build one of those," well today, I did.

OK, "machine" might be stretching the definition of that word. You are the machine portion of this build. You'll see.

I don't know about you but we're working our way through another week full of Monday's around here. I stumbled across this video earlier today and was just in awe of these magnificent creatures.
