Texarkana Arkansas Names the Teacher of the Year

The Texarkana Arkansas School District has named their Teacher of the Year for the 2011-2012 School Year.The recipient of the award is Trice Kindergarten Teacher Mrs. Peggy Mills. Mills, a 1975 graduate of East Texas State University-Texarkana, has taught Kindergarten in the district for thirty-seven years.

Superintendent Russell Sapaugh says ” Mrs. Mills is a true example of a teacher making a difference. She carries with her the attitude that with hope and effort, students can and will succeed. We are so appreciative of her being a part of the T.A.S.D. staff.”

Mrs. Mills received the honor at the year end breakfast at the school.
