Texas Rangers Off to Pretty Good Start to 2013 Baseball Season

One week into the 2013 baseball season and the Texas Rangers are looking like contenders again.The Rangers, who lost the first game of the season to the Houston Astros have come back to win four of the next 5 games played and are tied for 1st in the American League West.

The big weekend showdown between the Rangers and the LA Angels went to Texas two games to one. Three home runs by Ranger batters and good pitching by Yu Darvish propelled Texas to a win last night in Arlington. Darvish left early with a a blister on his pitching finger, but the bullpen was able to hold the Angels to secure the victory.

It is yet to be seen how much the offense will suffer having lost Michael Young, Josh Hamilton and Mike Napoli during the off-season.
