The bane of my USPSA shooting existence is the "Classifier" stage! I don't know what mental block I have on that particular stage but for some stupid reason I screw it up every month. I've been competing in these matches for over a year now and I think only once or twice have I shot the Classifier cleanly. I managed two misses this time around and since you can't make up shots on the Classifier, like you can on most other stages, once you've shot it you're done. That's why it has such a great impact on my overall score each month. Very few targets and not many shots on the stage translates to a big fat ouch on the scorecard if you mess it up. I only had 1 other miss the whole match.

Enough of my whining, the only way I can think of to fix the problem is to force myself to slow way down and just be sure of each shot.  We'll see what happens next month.

Here's a listing of our top 10 overall shooters for the April USPSA match:

  1. Harold Norris
  2. Kelly Murray
  3. John Cox
  4. Josh Blackstone
  5. Donnie Smith
  6. Gerald Meharry
  7. Jeff Thomas
  8. Marty Hooker
  9. Dean Ngarotata
  10. Ted Smethers

I finished 20th overall, 12th in my division.
