Even though I tried with all my might to mess it up, I am happy to report that the Classifier didn't beat me this time!

The bane of my existence, my Achilles heel, the straw that broke my poor camels back, the beast within my nightmares has been tamed my friends. For once, in a long while, I didn't screw up the classifier stage. Oh I tried, but nope, not this time baby.

As I mentioned in my last Weaver Un-Muzzled piece, I have been put in charge of picking the Classifier stage for each match and for my first official match with this new duty I just had to pick one that even I couldn't mess up, the simplest one I could find called the "Diamond Cutter". Consisting of four paper targets, each partially blocked by a no-shoot target. All you have to do is turn, draw and fire two rounds into each target at about 21 feet and you're done. No reloads, no weak hand, no strong hand stuff. Nice and simple. Next month won't be that easy I promise you, but I just had to get one under my belt so I could feel better about the whole process.

Here's a listing of our top 10 overall shooters for the May USPSA/IPSC match:

  1. Odie DeHan
  2. Gerald Meharry
  3. Harold Norris
  4. Kelly Murray
  5. Wayne Hatfield
  6. Dean Ngarotata
  7. Josh Blackstone
  8. Ed Shadbolt
  9. Jim Snyder
  10. Richard Jones

I finished 15th overall, 8th in my division.
