Wacha’s Numbers Have Been Amazing

Michael Wacha's pitching numbers since the playoffs began are close to perfect and pretty amazing.To say the former Pleasant Grove and Texas A&M pitching star has been red hot on the mound is putting it mildly. Currently,  the St. Louis Cardinals rookie right hander is 4-0 in the post-season. His earned run average is a miniscule  .122 over the four game span, having allowed only three earned runs in 27 innings worked. Wacha has struck out 28 batters while walking only 8.

Wacha's playoff victories include no runs allowed in two victories over the Los Angeles Dodgers, one run given up in a vctory over Pittsburgh, and two runs in last nights World Series win over Boston.

According to the St. Louis Cardinals, Wacha is jsut the 17th pitcher in baseball history to earn at least 4 victories in a  single post-season, and the first since teammate Chris Carpenter did the trick for the Cardinals in 2011. Also at 22 years and 116 days old, Michael  is the 17th youngest pitcher to ever win a World Series game.

As for personal numbers, the 22 year old Wacha is listed in the St. Louis roster as being 6 feet 6 inches tall and tips the scales at 210 pounds. If he continues to wrack up playoff and World Series victories, his stature is only going to get larger in both St. Louis and here in his hometown of Texarkana, Texas.
