Check Out the First International Trailer for ‘Wonder Woman’

For those of you anxiously anticipating the next round of Wonder Woman trailers, I have some good news, and I have some bad news. The good news is that we have a brand new international trailer for you to enjoy, complete with a tweaked color scheme and a tighter sense of rhythm for the fight sequences. The bad news? It’s all footage you’ve seen before… and it’s in Russian.

The international trailer posted above comes to us courtesy of ComicBook.com (via Heroic Hollywood) and serves primarily as repacked footage from the Comic-Con International trailer, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth viewing. First, with a much more compact running time of 1:30, this trailer brings the action to the forefront and does a better job showing off Gal Gadot’s chops as an action star. This is likely aided by the fact that they are not bouncing between different action scenes as much.

The trailer also hints at an evolving color scheme for the upcoming movie. If you do what I did  —  open both trailers to a similar scene and toggle quickly between the two tabs  —  you can see that Warner Bros. has made a very subtle but noticeable change to the brightness of the film. It’d be foolish to say that this was done as a direct response to fans’ complaints about the look of the DC Cinematic Universe, of course, but Warner Bros. does seem determined to give Wonder Woman a brighter and more colorful palette than the Superman movies that preceded it.

Here’s the full plot synopsis for Wonder Woman, courtesy of the Heroic Hollywood article:

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers… and her true destiny.

Alongside Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman will also star Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, and David Thewlis and will hit theaters on June 2, 2017.
