If you're like me, half the fun of owning an Android phone is searching and finding new apps, then playing with them to see how they work, if they work, and eventually if they work good enough to keep. It's kinda funny though that after all the cool new stuff wears off a bit we always seems to gravitate back to what we've known a long time and are most comfortable with.

Solitaire - How boring am I? After all these years, after all the games I've found and love to play, I still come back around to a game I learned as kid. There are many solitaire-type games for your Android, my recommendation is the most popular free game on the market, Solitaire by Ken Magic. You gotta love a game that you can sit down and play right now, no training involved, just playtime.

Bible - At one time I wished had devoted more time in my life to reading the Good Book as my dad used to call it. Well now I am! I'm not going to proclaim to be a good Christian, I swear to often and I don't go to church near enough. But several times a week now I am opening the Good Book and reading it, and it is good. There are many versions available, most appear to be free. I just happen to pick this one because it was the first one I found. From LifeChurch.tv

Google Maps Navigation - GPS navigation is Da Bomb! I started messing around with it when I was a student pilot, they have come a long way since then. Now it's on my phone and how cool is that! My carrier is Sprint and I have the HTC Evo 4G which is a great phone by the way. The Sprint Navigation program is ok, I've used it many times. But recently I downloaded the Google Maps Navigation app and I am very impressed. One of the tests I have for a GPS unit is when I plug in an address that I know for sure the fastest way to get there, but I want to see if the app thinks it's the fastest way or not. If it does, then we'll get along just fine. this Navigation app from Google seems to work pretty well. It has room for improvements and I'm sure we'll see them over time. Plus it's tied in with Google Maps and Search, kinda bringing the whole package together. Oh, it's FREE!

And remember kids, stay alive, don't text and drive!
