Get ready it looks like we are getting another medical marijuana dispensary in Texarkana, Arkansas.
Third Medical Marijuana Dispensary Comes to Texarkana
It will be our third medical marijuana dispensary and will most likely get its license in March.
Why is Texarkana Getting Another Medical Marijuana Dispensary?
Why are we getting another one? According to dariknews.com, there was a new rule that state regulators recently changed giving out two more medical marijuana dispensary licenses. The changed ruling means the 2 remaining licenses will go to companies that previously applied for them and are next in line based on the companies' scores. This is going to the Arkansas Legislative Council in February.
Who Will Receive the License?
Zone 8 includes Howard, Sevier, Little River, Hempstead, Miller, Nevada, Lafayette, Columbia, Union, Ouachita, Calhoun, Clark, and Dallas counties.
The Zone 8 license will be going to T&C Management and they plan on opening their dispensary in Texarkana.
It was also noted that in our Zone (Zone 8) Southwest Arkansas has fewer dispensaries than the other zones across the state of Arkansas.
The Second License Going to a Dispensary in Garland County
The other license will go to Zone 6, which includes Scott, Polk, Montgomery, Garland, Perry, Saline, Hot Spring and Grant counties. The license will go to Green Remedies Group and they will open their dispensary in Garland County.
