It's that time of year again. Time for the annual Bramlett Beans and Cornbread Fundraiser in Texarkana, Texas.

The 18th Annual Bramlett Beans & Cornbread luncheon is this Thursday, December 1, from 11AM – 1PM at the Southwest Community Center. Lunch includes beans and cornbread, sponsored by Big Jake’s BBQ and Texarkana Independent School District, sodas sponsored by Coca Cola and coffee and dessert sponsored by Starbucks.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Christmas Basket program, which is a volunteer effort by the Cities of Texarkana, Texas and Texarkana, Arkansas and Texarkana Water Utilities which provides holiday food for families in need in the area.

The cost for Bramlett Beans and Cornbread event is $5 per person or 6 non-perishable food items.

Along with the meal, students from Texas High will display handmade pottery as part of the Empty Bowls project. A silent auction will be held and proceeds will be donated to the Christmas Baskets project.

The Bramlett Beans and Cornbread luncheon was started in the late 1990's by then Mayor James Bramlett.
