Companion Planting and Container Gardening
Spring is here and lots of people are either gardening or thinking about starting to garden.
The Bowie County Master Gardeners and Texas A&M University-Texarkana will present a program titled “Companion Planting and Container Gardening” on Monday May 14, on the A&M-Texarkana campus. The class, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in Room 306 of the Science and Technology Building.
The program will feature two parts. The first, which covers companion planting, will advise gardeners on which types of plants grow well together and which types do not. There will also be a discussion about how certain types of plants can deter some household pests.
The second portion of the presentation will feature a presentation on container gardening. Container gardening is a less labor intensive way to garden, while also allowing for creativity and flexibility in what to use as a planter.
