How Far Can We Be From That Jetson’s Car Now?

As a child of the 60's I remember growing up with a very distinct promise in my head, one day I would have a car that just flew over the ground a few feet like those in science fiction movies and TV shows and cartoons. Ahem! Where's my flying car? OK, so technology hasn't quite kept up with my expectations, but it's getting there.

As you'll see in the video below, hovering, at any attitude is now possible due to dry ice and frozen cookies! OK, it may not be frozen cookies but I think I got the dry ice part right. Just how far away can my Jetson's car really be now?
