Arkansas City Records 6th Wettest Month in History
Arkansas is still recovering from massive storms that moved through the state over a week ago, bringing flooding and record rain to many regions.
Record-Setting Rainfall
Perhaps the most glaring statistic is the amount of rain that fell in Little Rock this month making it the wettest month breaking records as far back as 1874. According to meteorologists from THV11, the most significant rain occurred between April 2 -5 and ranked #6 on the most rainfall in Little Rock.

As of April 13, nearly double the month's average rainfall has already fallen and there is still half a month to go. It looks like another weather pattern could be shaping up for Easter weekend with more rain likely. If so, that could topple the record rainfall in 1927 which saw 14.81 inches of rain in Little Rock. In addition, several rivers are still above or below flood stage, especially the White and Ouachita Rivers.
