Don’t Miss Your Doc Appointment – B-29 Texarkana Visit Delayed
[UPDATE] The weather is looking to clear up enough for Doc to leave Fayetteville this morning and the current plan is to be here just after lunch today, Wednesday. Fingers crossed.
This is it, your 'Doc' appointment is this week, although, Doc's arrival has been delayed a bit due to bad weather. 'Doc' will arrive at Texarkana Regional Airport for several days of photos and flying as soon as the weather clears.
Hi, it's me again, your "Just Plane Nuts" reporter who thankfully doesn't have to go very far this week to get up close and personal with the B-29 Superfortress named Doc. Doc was scheduled to arrive Tuesday afternoon and be ready to receive visitors starting Wednesday morning, however, due to bad weather over Fayetteville that schedule has been delayed.
Doc will hopefully be able to get out of Fayetteville either late today or early Wednesday and get to Texarkana as soon they can. Once here, B-29 Doc will be hosted by Signature Flight Support. Ground and flight deck tours are scheduled from 10 AM to 4 PM, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The Saturday and Sunday ground tours are scheduled for 12 PM to 4 PM, immediately after morning ride flight schedules.

Ground and cockpit tour admission is $10 per person or $20 per family. You can purchase your tickets at the gate.
The public entrance for this event is at 501 Airport Drive, Texarkana, AR 71854.

I have been lucky enough in my radio career to fly in a B-17 twice, both times on the recently lost Texas Raiders, a B-24, a Stearman biplane, and an AT-6 Texan 3 times. This will be my first chance at an experience up close with B-29 Doc and I am excited about it. Don't forget, I'm "Just Plane Nuts", I'll be there, will you?
