The Bowie County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) arrested a man following an extensive two-day search involving multiple law enforcement agencies across the Texarkana area.

Pursuit Begins in Texarkana

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the incident began early Monday morning, August 11, 2025, when Texarkana Texas Police (TTPD) were pursuing a stolen vehicle within the city. The chase ended on County Road 2220, where the driver, later identified as 20-year-old Brandon Leshawn Davis, reportedly fled on foot.

Two Days of Evasion

Over the next several hours, officers from multiple agencies attempted to locate Davis without success. Later that morning, a citizen reported seeing him, prompting another response from law enforcement. Davis allegedly ran into a wooded area and was able to evade capture, even as Texas Department of Criminal Justice Telford Unit K9 teams tracked him. Authorities say Davis was spotted several more times over the following 24 hours but escaped each attempt to take him into custody.

K9 Teams Lead to Arrest

On Tuesday morning, August 12, around 8:24 AM, deputies again responded to a sighting near the end of County Road 2220. They set up a perimeter in a densely wooded area. Texas Game Warden McMillen and his K9 began tracking, with assistance from a Miller County Sheriff’s Office K9 team. Davis was finally located in the woods, complied with verbal commands, and was taken into custody without further incident.

Davis was booked into the Bowie County Jail on charges of Evading Arrest and Failure to Identify. He is also being held to face multiple felony warrants from other agencies.

The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Texarkana Texas Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Miller County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Criminal Justice Telford Unit, and Texas Parks and Wildlife for their assistance in the operation.
