Fayetteville, Arkansas, will soon be the site for the largest subsidized veteran housing units in the United States.
Patriot Park - Fayetteville, Arkansas
According to an updated press release, the project is called Patriot Park, and developers say it will include 60 affordable housing units for veterans earning 60 percent or less of the area's median income, making them accessible to veterans and their families in need.
Patriot Park is to be built at the southeast corner of North College Avenue and East North Street in Fayetteville. The project has been in the works for several years, but has been delayed due to the pandemic and inflation. Finally, construction planning stages are underway for the end of June or July, and the groundbreaking is set for August.

The Housing Units
According to a report from 5Newsonline and developers from MBL Planning, 24 one-bedroom units, 24 two-bedroom units, and 12 three-bedroom units will be constructed. There will also be elevated sidewalks, a courtyard, Central Plaza, on-site parking, Mid-Block Access, and a potential bus stop.
This project comes at a time when the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs reports many veterans continue to remain homeless.
