Investigation Leads to Arrest: Possession of Meth + 2, 310 Cash
The 8th South Drug Task Force, along with the 8th North Drug Task Force, 9th West Drug Task Force, and the local Federal Bureau of Investigation Office conducted a multi-day operation to intercept the shipment of methamphetamines coming into our community from California on February 28, 2025.
Timeline - March 5
According to a press release, the Task Force identified the location of the delivery, the 8th South Drug Task Force, 8th North Drug Task Force, and 9th West Drug Task Force, Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant on the residence of Prince Thomas, in Hope, Arkansas. Investigators seized 12 pounds of meth during the execution of this search warrant.
Timeline - March 11
The Task Force and the FBI continued the investigation of the methamphetamine delivery into the Texarkana area. Both law enforcement agencies received a tip about another shipment coming into the area and through a joint effort were able to intercept the shipment and seize the methamphetamine before it hit the streets. The team recovered 3 pounds of meth and $2,310 in drug money which led to the arrest of Anthony Thomas of Hope, Arkansas.
The 8th South Drug Task Force along with Chief Ed Chattaway, Sheriff Wayne Easley, Sheriff Jeff Black, and 8th South Prosecutor Connie Mitchell remain vigilant and committed to eliminating illegal drugs from our communities.
