Texarkana-Area Summer Feeding Program For Kids Is Underway

Harvest Regional Food Bank is once again sponsoring the Free Summer Feeding Program for kids in Southwest Arkansas and Bowie County in Northeast Texas.

That's right, FREE lunches for children through the Summer Feeding Program, which is sponsored by Harvest Regional Food Bank. The program is open to all kids ages 1‐18 years, with no applications necessary, simply drop in for lunch, all children and teens are welcome.

The Summer Feeding Program exists to make sure all children eat healthy food during the summer months when they don't have an opportunity to eat at school. Approximately one in five children in Arkansas are considered food insecure, which means they have limited or uncertain access to safe and nutritious food. Children who are hungry or food insecure are more likely to be in poor health and less likely to develop physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Where Can You Get These Lunches?

Bowie County Meals will be provided to the following sites:

• Mt. Sinai House of Prayer, 100 Gazola St., Texarkana, TX 75501
  Feeding Lunch – Monday – Friday 11am – 1pm
  Starting & Ending: May 30th – August 11th
  No meals will be served Tuesday, July 4th
• First Baptist-Redwater, 105 Redwater East, Redwater, TX 75573
  Feeding Lunch – Grab-N-Go Hot Meals: Monday – Thursday 12:30am – 1:30pm
  Starting & Ending: May 30th – July 27th
  No meals will be served Tuesday, July 4th

Miller County Meals will be provided to the following sites:

• Life House Church, 915 East St. Texarkana, AR 71854
  Feeding Lunch – Hot Meal: Monday – Friday 11am – 1pm
  Starting & Ending: May 30th – August 5th
  No meals will be served Tuesday, July 4th

Columbia County Meals will be provided to the following sites:

• Emerson Community Outreach, 107 Kelly St. Emerson, AR 71740
  Feeding Lunch - Grab-N-Go Meals - Monday - Friday 11am – 1pm
  Starting & Ending: May 30st – August 11th
  No meals will be served Tuesday, July 4th

Lafayette County Meals will be provided to the following sites:

• Bradley UMC, 103 N Pitot St, Bradley, AR 71827
  Feeding Lunch - Grab-N-Go Meals - Monday - Friday 11am – 1pm
  Starting & Ending: May 30st – August 11th
  No meals will be served Tuesday, July 4th

Nevada County Meals will be provided at the site and times as follows:

• Prescott/Nevada County Library, 121 West Main St, Prescott, AR 71857
  Feeding Lunch - Grab-N-Go Meals - Tuesday - Friday 11am – 2pm
  Starting & Ending: May 30st – August 11th
  No meals will be served Tuesday, July 4th
