Whatever happened to those days when the U.S. Postal Service would deliver in rain and snow? I guess those days are over, but I get it, it's not worth risking the lives of a driver to get the mail out with the recent winter storm we experienced.

U.S. Postal Service Deliveries Temporarily Put on Hold in Arkansas

Some people are frustrated because they depend on the mail for medical supplies, medicine, or other financial benefits. They may have to be patient a little longer until more roads, neighborhoods, and rural areas are completely clear of ice.

Even the Postal Service has to draw the line when the roads turn into an ice rink. The Little Rock Metro was affected the most, and some areas may still be without delivery, including residential customers and businesses. The USPS says the safety of its employees and the communities they serve is of the highest importance during this time.

Roads will continue to improve with warmer temperatures today, and postal officials say that when they get the green light, mail delivery will resume as normal. However, colder weather and more snow are expected in the Little Rock area tonight, so that could prolong the delay.

Residential customers and businesses can check for the latest service alerts on deliveries in their state at USPC.com.
