Old-Fashioned Fun + Food At Wagons For Veterans Event

Spring is right around the corner and one of Texarkana's premier events "Wagons for Veterans" is coming on Saturday, March 15, 2025.

7th Annual Wagons for Veterans

This will mark the 7th year for this local fundraiser helping to raise funds to assist local disabled veterans in need in our community. The event will be held at the Four States Fairgrounds with opening ceremonies at 11:15 AM and food served at 11:30 AM until it's all gone. The unique part of this event is all the food and desserts are cooked in cast iron pots and skillets over an open fire.

There will be over 20 chuckwagons on display or participating in this event making visitors feel like they're living in the pioneer days of the Old West.

I've been several times and there is just something special about a variety of food being cooked the old-fashioned way, over an open flame in a cast iron pot or Dutch oven.

Classic Car Show + Live Music

Wagons for Veterans will also feature live music, a live auction, and a car show. Several antique tractors and military vehicles will be on display, bounce houses for kids, and square dancing for all ages.
