Tuna and Ham salad products sold in Texas have been recalled due to potential Listeria contamination.

The Listeria contamination may be in bread crumbs used in the salads, according to the USDA and FDA.

Last year, the same company issued a recall on some of their potato salad products, due to a manufacturing error that caused some tubs to contain hard plastic pieces.

What Is Listeria and Why Is It Dangerous?

Listeriosis, the disease caused by a Listeria infection, can be extremely dangerous for children, seniors, and people with compromised immune systems. It can also cause pregnant women to miscarry.

Luckily, Listeria is treatable with antibiotics; however, the USDA warns:

Persons in the higher-risk categories who experience flu-like symptoms within two months after eating contaminated food should seek medical care and tell the health care provider about eating the contaminated food.

 

Which Tuna and Ham Salad Products Are Affected?

The following ham salad products are affected by the recall:

  • 12-oz. printed plastic tubs containing “RESER’S FINE FOODS Ham Salad” with sell by dates of 09/01/25.
  • 5-lb. clear plastic tubs containing “Molly’s Kitchen Ham Salad” with sell by dates of 08/31/25.

Several products containing tuna salad (including sandwiches, snack trays, and tubs of the product) were recalled. You can see the entire list with lot numbers and best by dates here.

Albertsons, Randalls, and Tom Thumb grocery stores.

What to Do If You Purchased These Products

DO NOT consume these products. Consumers with questions should contact Albertsons Companies’ Customer Service Center at 1-877-723-3929 Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. PST.

Luckily, no illnesses have yet been reported, but it's always better safe than sorry with Listeria.
