If you’re into thrifting and live in Texas, you’re in the right place. A new study found that 3 Texas cities were among the thriftiest in the nation.

Thrifting Feels Like a Treasure Hunt

I’ve always loved searching for hidden treasures at resale shops. As a total audiophile, I’m typically searching for a good deal on an old record or CD. But I also dig collectibles like action figures and sports memorabilia.

However, truth be told, I don’t get out and go thrifting nearly as often as I should. As much as I hate to admit it, it’s been a few years since I’ve visited a resale shop. I think maybe it’s time to get back into it. In fact, a thrifting road trip just might be in order.

Austin Ranks Second in National Thrifting Study

That’s because a study conducted by Mr. Mixer found that Austin is the second most thrifty city in the United States. Dallas wasn’t far behind, ranked number 4 in the study. Houston came in at number 8 on the list.

Don’t get me wrong – we have some cool resale shops here in Wichita Falls and the surrounding area. But I’m a sucker for road trips. There’s nothing quite like getting out of town and trying something new. And if I can find a good deal on something I’m into, it was well worth the drive.
