A monstrous tornado was caught on video outside of Morton, Texas, on Thursday, June 5.

Tornado Just Misses City, Avoiding Catastrophe 

Thankfully, the tornado didn’t hit the city, as it most likely would have been a catastrophic situation. I’m no expert, but that thing had to be at least an EF4, if not an EF5. One thing I am sure of, though, is that I would have needed a clean pair of underwear if I had witnessed it in person.

Nature’s Power: Beautiful and Terrifying

As one person commenting on the clip said, the tornado was horrifyingly beautiful. That’s the best way to describe such a brutal force of nature that you can’t take your eyes off of. As I’ve often written, storms are one of the paradoxes of nature in that they’re so deadly, yet so beautiful to me.

Storm Damage Reported in Lubbock Area

The twister was one of several confirmed tornadoes in the Lubbock area yesterday, according to The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. Multiple structures were damaged during the storm, but no injuries have been reported as of this posting.

Storm Chasers Warn of Active Tornado Season

Storm chasers are forecasting a higher-than-average risk for tornadoes in June here in Texas. So far, the forecast has been accurate. Let’s hope the weather starts to settle down soon. I, for one, have had enough severe weather this year.
