
Suspect Wanted in Jacksonville Officer and K-9 Shooting – Reward Increased To $21K
(Jacksonville, Texas) ----- UPDATE November 04, 2025 -----
As the manhunt continues for the wanted suspect in the shooting of a Jacksonville Police Officer and their K-9 partner, the reward for information leading to the arrest of Bobby Michael Dennis has increased to $21,000.
On Monday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced a $10,000 reward. Today, an additional $1000 has been added to the reward total by Cherokee County Crime Stoppers, along with another $10,000 by an anonymous donor.
If you have any information on the suspect's whereabouts, you are encouraged to call that information into your local law enforcement office or submit the tip anonymously by the methods below to be eligible for the reward.
On Tuesday, Jacksonville Police held a press conference outlining the events that unfolded Sunday evening, along with detailing the injuries sustained by the Jacksonville patrol officer and her K-9 partner. A manhunt continues for a suspect accused of shooting a Jacksonville police officer.
Officer and K-9 Status
Jacksonville Police and Texas DPS officers are still searching for a suspect who allegedly shot a Jacksonville Police officer Sunday afternoon, sending him to a Tyler hospital and his canine partner to a Tyler animal hospital, both with bullet wounds.

Blue Alert Issued; Suspect Identified
Police are looking for Bobby Michael Dennis. A Blue Alert was issued Sunday evening for Bobby Dennis. Dennis is wanted for aggravated assault against a public servant and interference with a police service animal in connection with a shooting that happened Sunday evening in Jacksonville.
Suspect Description and Vehicle
The suspect, Bobby Dennis, is described as a black man, approximately 5 feet 9 inches, and 152 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and is considered armed and dangerous. Officials believe he could be driving a gray 2000 GMC Sierra with Texas license plates TRW 3919.
The Texas Department of Public Safety added Dennis to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list Today. Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. Abbott says,
Attacks on our men and women in uniform must stop. Our law enforcement officers who selflessly risk their lives every day to serve and protect must know they will always have the full support of the State of Texas. Anyone with information relating to this heinous crime is strongly urged to call the Texas Crime Stoppers hotline or submit an anonymous tip online.
