
Texas Predator Sentenced After Posing as 11-Year-Old to Target Children Online
The FBI announced that a San Angelo, Texas man was sentenced to 50 years in a federal prison.
James Wilson was Sentenced to 50 Years In Prison on Child Pornography Charges
Back in August 2024, The Tom Green Sheriff's Office arrested James Wilson after executing a warrant on 4 counts of Possession of Child Pornography. The search warrant covered Wilson's residence on Decoty Drive in San Angelo as well as Wilson's place of employment. What they found on site gave them cause to arrest Wilson on the scene.

After further review, it was found that Wilson posed online as an 11-year-old boy and solicited a 9-year-old girl to send material of a sexual nature. The 9-year-old victim sent at least two videos of her engaging in sexual activity.
What Charges Were Included in James Wilson's Guilty Plea?
Wilson pled guilty to the Production of Child Pornography and the Transporation of Child Pornography in December 2024. On Tuesday, April 8th, U.S. District Judge James Wesley Hendrix sentenced him to 50 years in prison. Wilson is also required to pay restitution of $106,500.
Wilson admitted to law enforcement that he had viewed and downloaded child pornography for several years.
According to the FBI, The restitution will be paid out to the children from 13 different series of child pornography that Wilson had in his possession.
Do Inmates in Federal Prison Receive Parole?
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, those in Federal prison are not eligible for parole. However, they are eligible for early-release programs.
