Fire Departments across the country have seen an uptick in fires involving lithium-ion batteries, and now they want to inform homeowners in Texas about the dangers of charging them.

Now, fire departments around the country want to remind you that it is a great practice to charge bikes and scooters outside and not in your house.

FDNY reminds homeowners that these mobile devices should not be charged in your house because the batteries can explode while charging. With so many more structure fires resulting from batteries exploding or overheating, the FDNY has started a campaign called "Take It Outside."
