Out June 10, Nick Jonas' sophomore album is called Last Year Was Complicated — but if the first episode of his new Tidal docu-series is any indication, both personal and professional complications arose for him long before 2015.

In the first 12-minute installment of the series, the "Chainsaw" singer reveals that he sought therapy following the 2013 dissolution of the Jonas Brothers, the Disney-approved pop-rock band he launched with his brothers Joe and Kevin in 2005. While the group saw massive success, their young fame and constant disagreements over musical direction proved too much of a strain on the family band, eventually leading to their breakup.

"There were probably some family issues that needed to be sorted out," Nick admits in the documentary. "At some point I need to be able to look at it with a positive angle... It does suck that my 13- to 20-year-old years come with a lot of regret, almost, in a way."

Thankfully, he and his former band-mates all found their own successful paths post-disbandment: He as a solo pop star, Joe as the lead singer of DNCE, and Kevin as an E! reality star-turned-real estate contractor.

As for the rest of the episode, Nick, joined by his actor friend Jonathan Tucker, snowboards, smokes weed, talks about being diagnosed with diabetes, and visits the very same cabin where his forthcoming record was recorded.

You can watch a shirtless, towel-clad Nick (you know, if you're into that sort of thing or whatever) prep for a shower in this teaser, below:
