President Trump prides himself on patriotism even though he doesn’t know the words to the national anthem. In the wake of the NFL’s new policy that players must stand during the national anthem, one person has found a solution to help players enjoy listening to the anthem without objection.

A user named Jordan Pedersen has launched a petition to replace the national anthem with UGK’s song “Int'l Players Anthem (I Choose You)” featuring OutKast. You can check it out at

He feels that since the national anthem has become a polarizing issue why not replace it with a song that everyone will enjoy. Unlike the national anthem, UGK’s song wasn’t written by slave owners, it features a great verse from André 3000, it advocates safe sex, and it won a BET Award.

While Pedersen’s petition is noble, we don’t think Congress or the president will be swayed to change the national anthem. Plus, Pimp C’s verse on the song won’t sit well with conservatives. We're just saying.

Also, the for the record, the protest is not about the national anthem or the U.S. flag. The kneeling demonstration by Colin Kaepernick and others is about the police-involved shootings of unarmed African-American men and the need for criminal justice reform.

So far, the petition has garnered over 200 signatures and climbing. If you want to sign it, head over to
