Six Residents Express Interest in Vacant City Council Seat
Six local residents have sent letters of interest to the City of Texarkana, Texas concerning the vacant Ward Five City Council seat.
The seat was vacated by local attorney Bill Miller, who was appointed to be a judge by Governor Rick Perry earlier this month.
The individuals who have applied include:
Fred Meisenheimer - Sales Coordinator
Christy Paddock - Attorney
John Tidwell - Attorney
Michael Unger - Attorney
William T. Smith III - Business Owner
Douglas Cogdill - Physician
The City Council will go into executive session at its meeting on Monday night to interview the candidates. If a consensus is formed, the new council member will be voted in that night.
